St. StephenÕs Episcopal School - Austin, TX                                                                                                       2003-Current     

n  Founder, and Director of St. StephenÕs Jazz Guitar Ensemble.  Responsible for arranging music, leading rehearsals and scheduling performances.  Currently directing two ensembles with a combined repertoire of 35 arrangements of original music, jazz standards, and contemporary music.  Performances include school admission events, local music festivals, ISAS Fine Arts Festival, and the Crescent City Jazz Festival in New Orleans.

n  Director of St. Stephens Guitar Program – Responsible for 20-30 private guitar students ranging in age from 12-18.  Responsible for teaching a wide variety of styles, including Rock, Jazz, Country, Blues, and Classical.  Also responsible for adjudicating juries twice a year, and coordinating lessons with other teachers.

n  Assistant Director of St. Stephens Upper and Middle school Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Mark Kazanoff.  Responsible for leading sectionals as well as occasional full band rehearsals.  Assists with material selection, music preparation, planning band trips, and finding performance opportunities.   

n  Founder of St. StephenÕs Recording Technology program.  Private instruction in recording technology including ProTools operation, microphone placement, ensemble recording, and recording session practices.  Assisted Dr. Mark Kazanoff with the recording and production of Audio Proteus, the annual St. StephenÕs audio sampler album. Produced recordings of St. StephenÕs Orchestra, Jazz Band, Choir, Madrigals, Drumline, and small ensembles as well as solo student performances.

n  On-campus residential faculty, responsible for co-supervising a dorm of 12-24 boarding students.  Responsibilities include wake ups, meal check-ins, progress reports, study hall supervision, chaperoned student trips, and monitoring the health and well being of both American and International boarding students.

Professional Experience

n  Guitarist with the Austin Jazz Band, under the direction of Bobby Davis. Performed on the CD Austin Skyline.   Regular performances in the Austin area.  Performing both traditional and contemporary Big Band music by Count Basie, Thad Jones, Sammy Nestico, Gordon Goodwin, Manyard Ferguson, Bob Mintzer, et cetera.  Library of over 300 arrangements.                                                                                                      

n  2001-2007 Owner, Engineer, and Producer at Love Monkey Studios, a professional recording studio located in South Austin.  Produced and engineered over a dozen albums for local artists in many genres, as well as commercial recordings for voice overs, radio broadcasts, theater productions, live music recordings, and advertising jingles.

n  Professional Guitarist in the Austin area since 1999, averaging 50-100 performances a year.  Performed with Rock, Blues, Jazz, Singer-Songwriter, and Country artists, as well as Big Band jazz, musical theater productions, Orchestral performances, and Choral accompanying.   Performed in a wide variety of venues including clubs, theaters, churches, restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, SXSW and NXNE music festivals, and blues festivals in both Arkansas and Tennessee.

n  Composer, Arranger, Musical director for individual artists, theater productions, and student ensembles. 

n  Composed and recorded music for the award winning short film Do-Over, written and directed by David Fabelo.
